The highly-anticipated OnePlus Open, the brand's inaugural foldable smartphone, is set to be launched on October 19 at 7:30 PM IST, as officially announced by the Chinese tech giant. In addition, recent online reports suggest that the Indian pricing for this device may exceed ₹1,00,000, and it's rumored to come equipped with a triple rear camera and impressive display specifications.
According to a reputable tipster, Abhishek Yadav (@yabhishekhd), the expected price for the OnePlus Open foldable phone in India is around ₹1,39,999, and the initial sale is anticipated to commence on October 27.
In another revelation, Chinese tipster Digital Chat Station shared details about the OnePlus Open's display and camera specifications on Weibo. The device is said to feature an inner display with a BOE panel, boasting a 2K resolution and a speedy 120Hz refresh rate. Notably, this display may support 1440Hz PWM dimming and achieve a peak brightness of 2,800 nits.
Regarding its photography capabilities, the phone is rumored to house a triple rear camera system. This system comprises a 48-megapixel dual-layer transistor outsole primary camera, a 64-megapixel periscope sensor with 3x optical zoom, and 6x lossless zoom support. The third sensor is expected to be a 48-megapixel ultrawide camera.
Additionally, it's reported that the OnePlus Open will come with a 100W charger providing 67W fast charging, while wireless charging might not be an included feature. The device is likely to run on OxygenOS 13 and is expected to have dimensions measuring 11.7x6x5.8mm, with an approximate weight of 246 grams.
